Support our CPR-a-thon & training:

On Friday 3rd November the Resuscitation Service at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust are beginning a 24 hour Basic Life Support Marathon carrying out uninterrupted chest compressions for the duration.

Each year on 16th October there is a global initiative called World Restart a Heart Day, the idea being to train as many people as possible in basic life support, around the world, a skill which whilst we never hope to use, is a vital one should a patient, colleague, friend or loved one collapse with a cardiac arrest.

Our aim is to train 1,800 people over the following 6 weeks, and we hope as many people as possible will get involved.

Your support can make a big difference:

As part of this event, we are fundraising to support the Resuscitation Service who are responsible for training staff in all levels of life support, from our basic life support courses through to advanced resuscitation training courses in Newborn infants, children and adults. As a service, we are passionate about everyone, not just healthcare staff, but our wider community also, being able to have access to this type of training.  We want to be a Resuscitation Service not just for our hospital trust but also for our communities.

We have been working with different community projects in our own time recently to get the message out there.  If funding were to become available then we could use if for more equipment such as resuscitation training mannequins and Automated External Defibrillator training devices to help train people and encourage them in their use.

Help us to help you, your friends, your families and your communities to be ready to help should the need arise.

Remember your two hands can make a difference, your two hands could literally save a life.

Thank you!
